The iPhone 17 is the first standard iPhone with a screen this good. The 6.3-inch OLED runs at 120Hz, so scrolling and video look smooth, and it gets bright enough to read easily in direct sun. The front is Ceramic Shield 2, which stands up better to scratches. Inside is the A19 chip, and the back has two 48MP cameras, a main and an ultrawide. Dynamic Island, Face ID and USB-C carry over from the iPhone 16.
Most iPhone 17s come in for the same few things: a cracked screen, a smashed back glass, a battery that no longer lasts the day, or a charging port that has stopped working. Those are all everyday repairs. The one to watch for is a 17 that will not charge at all, or will not turn on. That is often a fault on the logic board itself, a tiny chip or a power problem, rather than a part you can simply swap. Most shops turn that away or quote you a whole new board. The Pro switched to a sealed aluminium body that only opens from the front, so even a battery starts by lifting the screen. The 17 kept the sensible layout. It opens from the back, the rear glass lifts on gentle heat, and the battery releases with a low current instead of a wrestle with adhesive. If you are holding the standard 17, that is good news for the life of the phone.

If the glass is cracked but touch still works there is no rush; once touch stops responding, it needs the full assembly either way.
On the 17 the back is its own glass panel that lifts off cleanly, so a cracked back is a contained swap rather than the full-housing job older iPhones needed. We move your MagSafe coil and flash across to the new panel and match the colour as closely as we can, so the repair stays on the outside.
By the second year many owners notice the battery fading before evening, or a swollen cell pressing on the screen. On the 17 it is a clean fix, since the battery lifts out on Apple's low-current adhesive release rather than a fight with old glue. Heavy drain in the first days after an iOS update is usually the system settling, not a tired battery.

I was charged Rs.4500 which i felt was very affordable given the complexity of the repair involved and also given that my data was still intact. I was quoted a price range of 6,500-14,500 in other places for the board replacement and not for a repair which was said to be impossible. What's more. I was given a 3 months warranty for the repair.
It depends on what needs doing, a screen, a battery, a charging port, or board-level work, and on the part quality you choose. We refit a fresh sealing gasket, but no repairer can guarantee the original IP68 rating once a phone has been opened, and the seal cannot be reliably tested afterwards. Even Apple will not commit to water resistance after a repair. Best to keep it away from water; we cannot take liability for liquid damage after the work.
For most repairs, like a screen, battery, back glass, or charging port, your data is never touched. The rare exception is if there's severe logic board damage, where the data itself may be at some risk. If any repair would genuinely require erasing the phone, we always check with you first.
That said, we can't take liability for accidental data loss in unforeseen situations, so if there is anything important on the phone, back it up to iCloud or your computer before you hand it over. Just to be safe.
One practical thing: we will need your iPhone passcode for testing purposes. For some repairs we may also ask you to turn off Find My iPhone first, and we will walk you through it.
In most cases, yes, and this is exactly the kind of repair we are strongest at. When an iPhone goes dead after water exposure, the damage is usually on the logic board, and Apple or most shops will only offer a full board swap or write the phone off, which is why the quote is so high or you are told it is beyond repair. We work at component level instead: we open the board, clean off corrosion, identify the specific parts that got damaged, and repair just those.
We can't promise every board is saveable, since liquid is unpredictable, but we have brought back hundreds of dead iPhones. Two things help your odds: stop trying to charge it or switch it on, since that spreads the damage, and get it to us as soon as you can before corrosion sets in.
